Broadcaster Channel 4 today announced it has appointed Yasir Mirza as its Head of Inclusion and Diversity.

Yasir was previously at a similar role at the Guardian, from 2009 - 2015, during which it made concrete efforts to diversify its workforce and editorial content.

He has also worked at the Open Society Foundation, the Diversity Media Institute and within the public sector.

He will work at Channel 4 to develop a more inclusive and diverse culture.

Channel 4 CEO Alex Mahon said: "Yasir has an exceptional track record of delivering inclusion and diversity strategies for major organisations and I’m thrilled that he’s joining us to drive this vital part of our strategy."
