15 people were injured after a home-made bomb went off inside a restaurant in Mississauga, Ontario, last night. Two men were captured on camera fleeing the scene just before it exploded.

The bomb went off inside the Bombay Bhel restaurant, 5035 Hurontario Street.

Police say two men with their faces covered came in, dropped the improvised explosive device and fled. It went off soon after.

Peel Regional Police say several of the injured were taken to a local hospital, while three people in critical condition were taken to a Toronto Trauma Centre.

Mississauga is a suburb just outside of Toronto, with a large number of Indian and Sikh-Canadian families.

Sergeant Matt Bertram told the Associated Press that they had "no indication to call it a hate crime or any kind of terrorism act."

"Until we can get in there and analyze the material after the search warrant, we won't be able to say what it was."

Peel Regional Police sent out tweets describing the suspects

Bystander Rafael Concaceicao told Global News he was at a nearby restaurant when he heard the explosion.

"When we reached the place, there was lots of blood on the floor. Many people were hurt at the time — women, [children] and families... There was a guy with glass inside his eyes. Many people were bleeding."

Authorities are expected to update the public again this morning. We'll update this story with new developments.

Update: Peel Police now say those critically injured are in a stable condition.
