Protests were being held by Sikh groups, Dalit groups and Muslim groups in Britain, calling on the Indian government to offer justice for rape victims and political prisoners.
There was also a protest in support of Jagtar Singh Johal, the British Sikh man who has been held in jail for over 6 months in India without a charge or a trial. His MP Martin Docherty asked for more transparency and accountability.
